MAMUZ Schloss Asparn/Zaya
Workshops
Duration: 2 hours, costs: € 6,- per pupil (excl. admission)
- Baking bread
The grain is ground, kneaded into a dough with water and salt and then we bake crispy flatbreads in the clay dome oven. - Natural Colours
Using earth pigments (ochre, red chalk, ...) we try to recreate cave paintings. But our own creations are also welcome. - Working with bones
Our Palaeolithic ancestors lived mainly from hunting. They wasted nothing, because that was the only way they could survive: Meat was eaten, clothes were made from fur and tendons were used for fastenings. Our ancestors used the bones of animals to carve flutes, jewellery or swords for communication. Together we will make an amulet that looks like the jewellery of our ancestors. - Copper jewellery
We will make rings and pendants based on historical models. - Twisted wood
The wood is sanded round at the edges, decorated and a hole is drilled with a flint stone for the cord. - Pocket knife of the Stone Age
The prefabricated piece of wood is worked with flint, the flint blade is glued into the notch with birch pitch and then we twist a thread to attach it. - Pottery
We mould vessels (using the building technique) as in prehistoric times.
