- Figurines, idols and amulets
Small figurines or amulets are made from alabaster and can then be decorated with earth colours. Most of the small artefacts from the Palaeolithic period are made of mammoth ivory. They reveal the astonishing craftsmanship of our ancestors. Based on these models, the children can test their own artistic skills and make their own figurines or amulets from alabaster. - Richly decorated
Stone Age necklaces are created from various natural materials such as shells, feathers, nuts and wood. Numerous finds from the Palaeolithic period prove that our ancestors already wore jewellery. Perhaps it served as spiritual protection against danger, as a sign of status and rank or simply as an ornament. In the workshop, the children can let their imagination run wild and create their own Stone Age necklace using many different natural materials.
